Step 2: Submit Online
        Application


If you believe your organization or program matches the Foundation's priorities, your next step is to submit an online application. We suggest that you print this web page for reference before beginning the application.

Special Instructions for Online Application Submission:

  1. The questions from the online application are itemized in the Reference for Online Application. You may wish to print the Reference for Online Application to aid you in gathering information prior to actually entering into the website. Link to Online Application

  2. When filling out the Online Application please use only plain text. Do not use bulleted lists, bold, underline, or italics. Apostrophes will not show up correctly so avoid using them wherever possible. You may use quotation marks, numbered lists, $, parentheses, and hard returns. (You must use Internet Explorer v5.5 or higher to access the online submission form.)

  3. "Submit Your Online Application" (enter as a "new online applicant" and create a password).

  4. This will open a new browser window containing the online submission form. You can move back and forth between the online submission form and the Foundation Web site if you need to review information regarding our guidelines. However, we recommend that you print the instructions from our Web site before you start the online submission process.

  5. Log into the form by answering an Eligibility Quiz.  These questions help pre-determine your eligibility by screening out applicants who do not match our criteria. Doing this will save you effort and allow you more time to apply to other funders who may be a better fit.

  6. As you are entering your information, you may either choose "Save and Finish Later" to save your work for a later session or "Next" to continue completing the form. When you want to return to your draft application, go to: https://www.grantrequest.com/SID_199/Default.asp which takes you to the logon page where you enter your email address, click on "returning applicant", and enter your password.  If you forget your password: Go to: https://www.grantrequest.com/SID_199/Default.asp
    Click on "Forgot your password" and enter the email address you used to save your application.

  7. The last section allows you to upload attachments.  Select whether it's a budget or another type of attachment.  Click on browse to search the directory on your computer for the file you wish to upload.

  8. When you have finished entering all the information into the form, click the "Review and Submit" button.

  9. Verify that the information is correct or make corrections. If you make corrections, click the "Update" button at the bottom of the page when you are finished.

  10. Print a copy of your application and your answers by clicking the "Printer-Friendly Version" button at the top left of the screen and using your browser's print button.

  11. When you have finished printing your form, scroll to the bottom of the page and click "Submit". YOU MUST PERFORM THIS STEP IN ORDER FOR YOUR FORM TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE FOUNDATION. When your Application is submitted to the Foundation, you will see a note on your account page acknowledging your submission. However, we will also acknowledge receipt of your request within two weeks of receipt, to verify that no transmission problems prevented submission of your form.
