To determine whether your organization fits with the
Foundation's priorities, carefully examine our "Program
Areas", reviewing "What We Support" with particular attention to the
"Current Focus" section. Each program area has a specific focus
and flavor. Determine the ONE program area where your proposal best
fits. You will be asked to indicate that selection during the
online process.
You will also take an eligibility quiz at the beginning of the online
process. You may be screened out at this point if your initial
responses do not meet our basic guidelines. If you are screened
out, revisit the program area for which you are applying and review the
"What We Support" and "Current Focus" again. Also check the
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
The four most common reasons for getting
screened out are:
Outside Geographic funding area. Currently, our
funding area is Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana and
Alaska. Arizona is no longer included.
Not Youth-centered. Projects for Culture,
Education and Athletics MUST have a youth focus.
Project is social services. Youth projects
must have primary goal of providing substantive experience in
culture, education or athletics
For Wildlife and Habitat projects, the
ORGANIZATION-- not just the project--must be DEDICATED to wildlife
and/or habitat protection.
